MegaRide and WOM partnership

T.R.I.C.K. (Tire/Road Interaction Characterization & Knowledge) is a physical-based vehicle model that processes onboard sensors data using a backward computation approach to estimate tire forces, slip, camber angle at each vehicle corner and many other quantities characteristic of vehicle dynamics. By transforming standard telemetry into enhanced datasets, it provides critical insights into tire behavior across various operating conditions.

Beyond dynamics and kinematics, T.R.I.C.K. integrates physical tire models, incorporating thermal, wear and transient phenomena, allowing for detailed tire parameter identification and calibration. Its application enables fast data-driven responses to testing needs, making it a highly effective tool for real-time decision making in tire and vehicle development.

TiReC is an engineering solution for Tire in Real Condition measurement, characterization and modeling. It comprises a customizable embedded technology tailored to specific measurement needs, the design and execution of a dedicated testing plan and a rigorous data engineering process. It is based on the use of WOM device, a patented technology that provides unprecedented accuracy of tire forces and moments at the contact patch, cornering stiffness, wheel kinematics and dynamic loaded radius, on any real road surface. TiReC data enables advanced realism of virtual tires by completely isolating their behavior from vehicle dynamics, track slope, and suspension KnC characteristics, enhancing interoperability of tire models across different vehicles.

By combining T.R.I.C.K. and TiReC, the two companies are introducing modular and scalable smart testing solutions, adaptable to the required level of detail and testing conditions. MegaRide and WOM Testing Technologies will cover all aspects of tire and vehicle characterization across any road and vehicle configuration, empowering the value of real-world data, enabling also complementation/integration with traditional testing methodologies. The collaboration strengthens the synergy between simulation and real-world physics, ensuring that track-acquired data contributes to the continuous refinement of simulation models, extending their predictive capabilities across different roads and vehicle configurations.

Seaside Racing 2025 has been the opportunity to explore new testing possibilities, bringing T.R.I.C.K. and TiReC into their natural pitch: the real-world environment. Through dedicated track sessions, advanced instrumentation and expert engineering teams, the event fostered collaboration via open data sharing with partners. The initiative contributed to expanding knowledge in vehicle and tire dynamics, supporting OEMs, Tier-1s, motorsport teams and mobility innovators in their ongoing development efforts.
