The technology partnership between MegaRide and Trident Motorsport has proven itself as an extremely valuable asset for the Milan-based squad in its effort to secure the Team Champions title in the 2021 FIA Formula 3 Championship, one of the most competitive racing competitions in motorsports. The goal of the relationship, which involves two companies with a winning DNA, is to maximize the performance and results achieved on track through advanced analysis and simulation instruments.
MegaRide supports Trident Motorsport in the preparation for the race weekends, to identify the target temperature for tire operation, the camber settings needed to maximize the grip level, and the best warming procedure to reach the tire’s target operating temperature. In addition, the technical staff of Trident Motorsport interacts with MegaRide to define the test programs needed to improve the comprehension depth of the tire behavior. MegaRide also processes and analyzes the data collected, providing critical indications for the car’s set-up and tire management.
MegaRide and Trident Motorsport are working in tight collaboration to improve the on-track results, but the partnership goes beyond the technical aspect. The agreement includes key co-marketing elements. The team’s liveries feature the MegaRide logo, and the social media content created by the two entities is developed in synergy, to provide interesting insights into what happens before, during, and after the race.
MegaRide was born as a spin-off project of the Federico II University of Naples and was founded by Flavio Farroni, Francesco Timpone, and Aleksandr Sakhnevych after several scientific research programs focused on vehicle dynamics in collaboration with Ferrari, Ducati, and other excellent partners in motorsports. MegaRide is currently collaborating with the most prestigious brands of auto and motorcycle racing. The company is active in racing environments such as Moto GP, Formula E, Formula 1, NASCAR, and several GT competitions. The solutions offered by MegaRide include indoor and outdoor testing, performance optimization in terms of the interaction between the tires and the ground, and the reproduction of vehicle behavior in driving simulations.
